If you haven’t grabbed your copy of Together Again yet, now’s the time. This second chance romance anthology celebrates five years of hard work from The New Romance Cafe publishing and writing team. In those five years, we’ve raised thousands of dollars for charities and produced dozens of wonderful collections of stories.

My contribution is “After the Meet Cute,” a romantic comedy set in the standup comedy world of Hollywood in the eighties. Amy finds Jimmy Jett on a comedy stage and is determined to keep him in her sights after a year of searching. This romcom has equal parts of laughter and love, and it can only be found in Together Again!

What was I doing in Hollywood in the eighties, you might ask? I was happily nestled in the back of a comedy club most nights. I dated three standup comedians during the years I lived in Los Angles. While my friends were chasing rock stars, I was looking for laughs. One night I spotted a particularly funny new guy named Jerry Seinfeld up on stage, and he became my boyfriend. True story.

Jimmy’s story in “After the Meet Cute,” on the other hand, is pure fiction, but it’s set in a world I knew well. I hope you like it.

I couldn’t be prouder of this book, and the cherry on top? All proceeds go to breast cancer research (and yes, I’m a breast cancer survivor).
